About Paperwork
We got tired of tools that create more work than they save.
So we built something different.
The Origin
Born from frustration.
We've spent years building software inside teams that use bloated project management tools. Tools with hundreds of features, infinite configurability, and one shared trait: nobody actually likes using them. The ceremony tax was brutal — standup theater every morning, backlog grooming that groomed nothing, retros that changed nothing.
We watched teams spend more time updating tickets than building things. More time in meetings about the process than doing the work. More time configuring workflows than flowing through work. We watched backlogs rot into graveyards of good intentions that nobody would ever touch again.
Paperwork is our answer to the question: what if the tool just got out of the way?
What We Believe
Simple tools for teams that ship.
Work is conversation
The best coordination happens through dialogue, not forms. Paperwork treats every piece of work as a conversation between teammates.
Ownership beats assignment
People do their best work when they choose it. Paperwork lets people pull their own work instead of being assigned tickets.
Simplicity is a feature
We're opinionated by design. Fewer options means fewer decisions, which means more time building.
Letting go is strength
Not everything needs to be done. Items in Paperwork expire by default — because the backlog is a graveyard of good intentions.
The Product
What Paperwork is.
Paperwork is a team feed. Every day, your team shares what they shipped, what they're working on, and what needs attention. That's it.
No tickets. No sprints. No story points. No Gantt charts. No backlog grooming sessions. Just a clear, real-time view of what your team is doing today.
We believe the best project management tool is the one you barely notice you're using.
